Book Review: Cyndere’s Midnight by Jeffrey Overstreet

This month I'm involved in a tour of Cyndere's Midnight by Jeffrey Overstreet. Things have been really busy here at the Tired Garden and I've not finished reading the book. So keep in mind, this review is based on my only having read maybe 20% of the book.

There was obviously a lot of thought that went into creating this world. The characters are unique and interesting and the world is very involved with creatures I've never seen before. This complexity is fun, but also causes some problems. It makes the story move a little slow, as I do not know all the names of the creatures. Jeffrey also tends to use bigger words than he needs to. While I like learning new vocabulary, it is a little disheartening to need to have a dictionary near by to read my relaxation books.

While the book is interesting, I've had a lot of difficulty getting into it. I am curious as to what is going on in the book. Some of the complexity might have been explained in the previous book, but having started in the middle of the series, I'm left out of the loop. For other points of view on this book, be sure to read the other reviews below.
