Tour Dates

Coop Tour

Here is the list of locations I had tossed out on the list:

N Portland/Vanvouver
NW Portland
SW Portland
Close NE Portland
Close SE Portland
Deep East Portland
Beaverton/Aloha/etc
Gresham/Troutdale/etc
Milwaukee/Gladstone/Oregon City/Etc
Deep South West (Lake Oswego/Tigard/Tualatin/Etc)

I thought we could take January and December off so that people did not freeze their parts off during the tour. Another thought I had is that the big tour de coop is in July. Perhaps we should take July off so that we do not compete with them. If we cut out Deep East Portland and changed the other East side ones to include all of NE and SE, then this would work fine. My thought behind having them seperated is so that it is an easier bike ride for those that are riding.

What does everyone else think about the list? What should be changed.

What is the best day of the week? Probably Saturday, but some may prefer Sunday. Speak up. What about week of the month? I was thinking 2nd Saturday.

We live in Salem so I am being realistic in thinking we probably won't have a tour down here (unless some Salem area people materialize) but I look forward to visiting more coops in Portland!

Well, darn... I have a standing commitment on the 2nd Saturday of each month - pretty much forever. I'm unavailable from 9am to about 3pm that day each month. Other Saturdays - pretty flexible! (Although I do have three kids!) I do like the idea of Saturdays... Sundays are nuts for us as a pretty busy family. If I can put in a dibs of any kind - we are thinking we're gonna be moving some time in the fall, so we'd prefer sooner, as opposed to later. Blessings, dina

I just tossed out 2nd Saturday as an option. Could be 1st, 3rd, or 4th as well. Could also be last (which is either 4th or 5th). So we have one vote for not 2nd, and no votes otherwise. Lets see what others say.

Outer East

I think who signs up could determine whether to fold East Portland into the inner sections. I think there is a good reason to keep them separate (Outer East has its own personality and identity that is distinct from other parts of Portland and can be celebrated on its own tour, for one), but if we only have a couple of folks interested, then it would make sense to combine.

If these are smaller tours with fewer sites, might be nice for the owners if the tour times were shorter than the big July one, so the time commitment is less, like 3 hours total.

Sounds like fun!

I think thats a good idea to make the whole area one. and as for the days second sat sounds good to me...also what do I (as a coupe stop) need to do ? Just clean up my area and contain my dogs ?
